EZGEO has announced that it has successfully completed its research and development project on “AI-based lubricant spray quality analysis and prediction” through the ICT R&D Innovation Voucher Program.
This program is supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT and managed by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). The lead organization for the project was Sewon Metal Co., Ltd., and EZGEO participated as a joint R&D institution along with the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS) and the POSTECH Industry-University Cooperation Foundation. The research was conducted over one year, beginning on April 1, 2023.

Sewon Metal is a regional hidden champion specializing in the production of global automotive parts. To improve the efficiency of manual operations in the hot forging production line, the company aimed to automate both the product transfer process and the spraying of lubricants (which help separate the mold smoothly after the press process).
An official from EZGEO stated, “Using our AI-based image analysis solution ‘BraiStick,’ we carried out R&D in line with the technology requirements set by the lead organization. As a result, we successfully developed a technology that can quantitatively evaluate the sprayed area of the lubricant applied to the mold.”
They further added, “The core goal of this research project was to optimize the required technology for real field operations and lay the foundation for digitalizing the process. Ultimately, the solution performance measurement results exceeded expectations, achieving a confidence level of 97%, surpassing the original target.”
